November 1 - Learning from Home Information

Good afternoon! Today is Monday, November 1 and this is a message for all Raiders and their families.

All Raider students had access to a “one day at home” packet via TEAMS. Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, November 2, RVMS will continue to support students and families by providing “Learning from Home” opportunities.

Homeroom Teachers will be in touch with families today or tomorrow as well.

Please let your child’s Homeroom teacher know if your family will be participating in “Learning from Home” activities and if you are able to do that virtually or will require hard copy work-packets from the school.

We begin tomorrow, and each day, with a Homeroom meeting with your child’s Homeroom Teacher. Students will have learning activities posted on the TEAM site for each subject area (or provided paper copies from the school).

Teachers will be available for consultation, questions and support as per the schedule below. Students are not required to be online other than for Homeroom and in the event they have questions or want to speak with their teacher. Teachers will be availabel, for the subjects they teacher, for all of the times below.

We hope to have the hard copy work-packets available tomorrow afternoon. I will send another message to families with details for pick-up. I can also e-mail the work-packets to parent e-mails if that is helpful. Please send me a message with your child’s name and Homeroom if you prefer an e-mailed copy.

In the coming days we may also be able to provide student access to lockers to retrieve needed belongings…stay tuned for that schedule as well!

All teacher e-mails can be found on our website (rvms.nbed.nb.ca) under the About Us tab.

We know this is a stressful and confusing time for our Raiders and their families (and for school staff). We will do our best to answer questions and problem solve for you. We ask for your patience as we work through this new system.

Please note that RVMS Teachers cannot respond or comment on the CUPE strike action.

Thank you,

Ms. T. McGrath
